RODEO IDOL

The Nevada Gay Rodeo Association and BigHorn Rodeo believes in supporting and promoting the Country and Western lifestyle through rodeo, dance, entertainment, and community outreach.   To that end we are officially announcing the BigHorn Rodeo Idol 2025 competition.  We hope to use this competition to expose and reward the talent that is so abundant in our community, but not always showcased.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • The competition is open to individuals aged 21 and above.

  • Contestants must be residents of Southern Nevada.

INDIVIDUAL BAR/CLUB COMPETITION PHASE:

  • Local Bars/Clubs with Karaoke nights must hold at least 3 qualifying competitions with one winner awarded at each qualifying completion.

  • There will be a 3-person judging panel at each competition awarding 1 to 10 points for singing ability and 1-5 points for stage presence.  An additional point will be awarded for singing a Country song.

  • Competition Dates - TBD​

FINALE COMPETITION:

  • Friday, May 23rd at Horseman’s Park at approximately 7 PM.

  • There will be no video screens available at the Finale.

  • Contestants must provide their own background tracks.

  • Finale contestants must provide a bio to the finale coordinator no later than 1 week prior to the finale.

FINALE JUDGING CRITERIA:

  • There will be a 5-7 person judging panel awarding 1 to 10 points for singing ability and 1-5 points for stage presence.  An additional point will be awarded for singing a Country song.

  • High and low judges’ scores will be eliminated from each contestant’s total points calculation.

  • Contestant with highest points will be declared the winner at the conclusion of the competition.

PRIZES:

  • 1st place winner will receive a cash prize of $500, 2nd place receives $300, 3rd place receives $200

  • The winner of BigHorn Rodeo Idol 2025 will receive an official BigHorn Rodeo 2025 event buckle and the privilege of singing the USA, Canadian or Mexican National Anthem during Saturday and Sunday BigHorn Rodeo Grand Entries.

  • All competitors will be invited to perform in the Rodeo Idol Hour in the festival pavilion on Saturday, May 24th.

MEDIA & PROMOTION:

  • By participating, contestants agree to allow NGRA and BigHorn Rodeo to use their image and performance footage for promotional purposes.
